For Parents

3/27/17
WHEW! What a week we have had! It took us a while to get to Friday…LOL!...but we made it! The kids did so well during our review Boot Camp. I hope they have told you a little bit about it. We are preparing to beat down the Bobby test (STAAR J). Please whisper a few more encouraging words into their ears. Some of these super heroes still struggle a bit with self-confidence. I believe in all of them and I know that they will do their best…I just need them to know and believe also. Read below to find out more information about upcoming events and dates.

STAAR TEST- Yes, the Bobby test has arrived. This week, students will be administered both the Reading and Math tests. We had Boot Camp all week reviewing things from the year. I have seen great growth and now, it is time to show everyone else just how amazing my superheroes are. I encourage you to be sure that they get lots of rest both nights before the tests. Sleeping through the test is not optional! Please let me know if you have any questions regarding the state test. We will be having one last review today in preparation of the tests.

CONFERENCE- Well, I really messed this one up! Haha! My intentions of scheduling conferences prior to Spring Break were corrupted by the villains called meetings and unexpected complete schedule change. After Spring Break, my old lady brain had forgotten about a conference set up after the week was over. It has been so crazy over here with my full focus on Boot Camp. I would like to apologize to all of you who signed up for conferences and I have not had a chance to meet with you yet. I plan to get you in ASAP. You will be getting notes home with new dates for our meeting. In the meantime, if you have any questions about anything, you can always email me or call and I will gladly answer.  Again, many apologizes and I appreciate all of you for your patience and thoughtfulness!
Progress Reports- These went home last week…just making sure you knew.
Homework- There was no weekly homework last week and there will not be any homework this week.
Tutoring- There will be no tutoring this week due to testing. Tutoring will next week.

Hello, hello Superhero family!
We are in that stretch of time right before Spring Break where all kinds are crazy things are likely to happen. In our classroom, we will keep our cool J! This past weekend, I went home to spend a little time with family and it does my heart so good to see them and spend time with them since we are so far apart now. I am so happy that my students get to go home to you tonight because the love you share with them is felt daily. They are awesome and I see great things in their future.
Today we had a discussion about how every action has a reaction and consequence. We have been working on taking responsibility for the things that we do individually, and noticing how it affects the class as a whole. It is slow progress with many bumps in the road, but many of our students want to grow. Your continued support and encouragement means a lot to me.
I would like to give a big shout out for the donations of 2 bookshelves and some classroom supplies! We are in need of basics like dry erase markers and pencils. I don’t know what is happening to all of their supplies, but we are having to find extras for some students almost daily. Please find out if your student is in need of more supplies. As always, please know that I am here if you need me. Read below to find out more information on upcoming events and dates.
